Source: Press-Enterprise (Riverside, California)
A decision on whether to evaluate realignment options for Gilman Springs Road north of San Jacinto was put off indefinitely Tuesday by the Riverside County Board of Supervisors. The board voted after hearing that postponement would ensure interested parties are available to comment at a later date. The Church of Scientology and its Golden Era Productions last year expressed a willingness to study alternative alignments of the road, which bisects its Golden Era Productions studios, as a possible prelude to removing ...

A proposal to evaluate realignment options for Gilman Springs Road north of San Jacinto near the Church of Scientology's Golden Era Productions site will be considered by the Riverside County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday. Riverside County planning commissioners support the idea of a study that will look at possibly realigning Gilman Springs Road north of San Jacinto where it bisects the Church of Scientology's Golden Era Productions. The commissioners' comments came during a meeting Wednesday in Riverside and will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors, which could either order the review or find that the group's interest in amending the county's general land use plan is not appropriate at this time. Attorney Samuel C. ...

The possibility of realigning Gilman Springs Road, which bisects the Church of Scientology's Golden Era Productions site north of San Jacinto, will get its first airing before the Riverside County Planning Commission on Wednesday. When the idea was first aired in summer 2009, the San Jacinto City Council objected because of the route's regional significance. Verne Lauritzen, chief of staff for county Supervisor Jeff Stone, who represents the area, said the supervisor would consider it only if the church paid for ...

Council doesn't support closing Gilman Springs Road — Press-Enterprise (Riverside, California)
Type: Press
Author(s): Gail Wesson
Source: Press-Enterprise (Riverside, California)
The San Jacinto City Council voted unanimously Thursday to go on record opposing any future proposal to close Gilman Springs Road where it bisects the Church of Scientology's Golden Era Productions property. The winding, two-lane road between Highway 79 and State Street is in unincorporated Riverside County, adjacent to the city. The Scientologists' interest in closing the road predates the 2004 election of County Supervisor Jeff Stone, who represents the area's 3rd District. The issue has come up every few years, ...
