A senior member of the Church of Scientology is due to appear in court in Australia on Thursday charged with perverting the course of justice. It is alleged that Jan Eastgate, 57, threatened and intimidated an 11-year-old girl into providing false statements to police. Boston police have responded to a building at 1769 Washington St. for a report of bricks falling. They have cordoned off the area, and the fire department and city inspectors are taking a look at the building, said Officer Eddy Chrispin, a police spokesman. The report came in at 5:31 p.m., he said.
