Hi, my name is Mike Gormez (mike@stop-wise.biz) and I made this site about the World Institute of Scientology Enterprises corporation, its link with Scientology and WISE licensed businesses.

Sometimes I get questions by people who have had a run-in with a WISE licensed company (like this case) and ask me if I know of a lawyer to help them with a situation. Or they indicate they want a different attorney because their current one doesn't understand the aggressive litigious nature of Scientology and all entities that are fueled by its doctrine of "The DEFENSE of anything is UNTENABLE. The only way to defend anything is to ATTACK " (link).

Some people have criticized me in the recent past for painting too dark a picture vis-a-vis the possibility to win a case against them. But I feel that I need to give you a heads-up of what to expect, it can only help you with your case. Reality is, litigating against them will probably be a whole new experience for you, to put it euphemistically.

For sure I am not a lawyer, therefore all I can say is 'talk with a lawyer' to people who contact me with questions of a legal nature. What I can do however, is try to gather as much information as possible about lawyers who have litigated prior against the cult or its affiliates .

Attorney Michael C. Barrows is an attorney in New York City who recently represented a chiropractor in a religious discrimination claim (like this) against a WISE group in New York. The EEOC has reached a determination for his client and against the WISE organization for a very substantial amount. Although this determination is not binding, should the WISE organization refuse the payout then then the attorney will be filing suit shortly in a federal court.
