Grady Ward is believed by Religious Technology Centre to be the publisher of the now legendary e-zine SCAMIZDAT, which during 1995 regularly published complete versions of many of Scientology's secret documents. They were so convinced of this that they took out a lawsuit against Grady, setting several of their lawyers (including Helena) on the case.
During deposition, Grady revealed that his frequent hints that he was behind Scamizdat were a troll, designed to waste Scientology's resources on a pointless lawsuit. In this he succeeded: RTC has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on the case and has, at the time of writing, produced no substantial evidence that Grady had anything to do with Scamizdat. Surely this is one of the greatest Usenet trolls of all time.
